Brownness Babe of the Week: Briana Wilson
Our Brownness Babe of the week is, Briana Shanee Wilson is the owner of MATTE. Originally from Texas, the 24-year-old designer currently lives in L.A where she runs Matte.
We featured MATTE in our previous article of 5 black-owned businesses you need our support, and we still stand by our previous statement. Matte features simple, minimalistic basics. The brand carries sleek bodysuits, dresses, swimwear and will soon release a collection of athletic wear.
She is also the owner of Working Girls, a subsidiary of Matte, “designed to honor all forms of women that believe in themselves”. With Working Girls, Briana decided to highlight hard working women like Alycia Bella, Osh Kosh and is planning to release a mini-documentary on Beyonce’s all-female band, The Sugar Mamas.
MATTE and Working Girls have been worked by celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Ryan Destiny (star of Fox's new hit show "Star") and Teyana Taylor.
Briana is a testament of how much working hard and believing in your dreams pays off. For her, there's no limit to what she can accomplish and we find her inspiring! We wish her all of the success in the world!
